Mikati holds series of meetings at Grand Serail

NNA – Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Wednesday received Akkar Mufti, Sheikh Zaid Mohammad Bakkar Zakaria, with whom he discussed general developments.
Mikati also met with MP Ahmad Al-Khair, who expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's efforts during the presidential vacuum, which lasted over two years and four months.
Al-Khair highlighted Mikati's wisdom, diplomacy, and patience as key factors that preserved stability during this period.
Commenting on recent political consultations, Al-Khair noted emerging consensus around Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam, particularly following support from the Progressive Socialist Party and the Free Patriotic Movement.
Additionally, MP Jihad Al-Samad met with Mikati, praising his dedication and fairness during challenging times, including the presidential vacuum and the Israeli aggression on Lebanon. Al-Samad emphasized Mikati's efforts to uphold the state's legitimacy despite limited resources.
Later during the day, Prime Minister Mikati discussed general matters with Agriculture Minister, Abbas Hajj Hassan.
The PM also met with Lebanon’s Ambassador to the UAE, Fouad Chehab Dandan, with whom he reviewed preparations for reopening the Emirati Embassy in Beirut.
Mikati then welcomed Dr. Fadlo Khuri, President of the American University of Beirut, with whom he discussed the university's situation and efforts to safeguard education, healthcare, and higher education amid current challenges.
Dr. Khuri expressed optimism about the country's direction following the election of a new President and the designation of Nawaf Salam as Prime Minister.
